1.5 hours - This class is directed at employees who drive cars or light trucks on behalf of an employer. The tremendous loss potential of motor vehicle accidents is explained including property damage, auto liability and employee injury. Topics include hydroplaning, the effects of excessive speed, and inclement weather. Distracted driving, the effects of fatigue and alcohol on driver performance and the practice of defensive driving are discussed. Through class participation, the concept of reaction time and stopping distances are presented. Required upon initial assignment and recommended retaining every 3 years or if performance deficiencies are observed. Continuing Education Approvals: CPWM - 1.0 Technical CEU Credit Water/Wastewater - 1.0 Safety TCH ** To maintain the integrity of MSI classes and our ability to offer CEUs, we must abide by the rules of the State agency who issued the designation. Chief among those rules is the attendee of the class must attend the whole session. Attendees who enter the class more than 5 minutes late or leave early will not be awarded CEUs for the class or receive a certificate of completion.
