Asbestos Awareness

2 hour - EPA regulations require Asbestos Awareness training for maintenance and custodial staff involved in cleaning and maintenance tasks where asbestos containing materials (ACM) may be accidentally disturbed. The covers background information on asbestos, health effects of asbestos, worker protection programs, common locations of ACM in a building, recognition of ACM damage and deterioration, and overview of an Operation & Maintenance (O&M) program for a building.

Recommended upon initial assignment and annual refresher training for employees and supervisors who perform housekeeping or maintenance in areas which may have asbestos containing materials (ACM) or presumed asbestos containing materials (PACM).

** To maintain the integrity of MSI classes and our ability to offer CEUs, we must abide by the rules of the State agency who issued the designation. Chief among those rules is the attendee of the class must attend the whole session. Attendees who enter the class more than 5 minutes late or leave early will not be awarded CEUs for the class or receive a certificate of completion.
